NPS Calculator
Free online NPS calculator to estimate your National Pension System corpus, tax-free lump sum, annuity amount and monthly pension at retirement.
At retirement you could build a corpus of ₹2,27,93,253.
Corpus per year
Estimates only, assuming monthly compounding and constant rates. At least 40% of the corpus must buy an annuity; the lump-sum (up to 60%) is tax-free under Section 10(12A), but the annuity pension is taxable as income. Returns and annuity rates are not guaranteed.
Frequently asked questions
How much of my NPS corpus must I use to buy an annuity?
Under current NPS rules, at least 40% of the accumulated corpus must be used to purchase an annuity that provides your monthly pension. The remaining up to 60% can be withdrawn as a lump sum, which is tax-free. The calculator enforces this 40% minimum and lets you raise the annuity share up to 100%.
How is the monthly pension estimated?
The annuitised amount is multiplied by the expected annuity rate and divided by 12. For example, an annuitised corpus of Rs 91,17,301 at a 6% annuity rate gives roughly Rs 45,587 per month. The actual pension depends on the annuity plan and rates offered by the chosen insurer at retirement.
