Frequently asked questions
How is the monthly mortgage payment calculated?
It uses the standard amortization formula: M = P x [i(1+i)^n] / [(1+i)^n - 1], where P is the loan amount, i is the monthly interest rate, and n is the number of monthly payments.
Does this include taxes and insurance?
No. It calculates principal and interest only. Property tax, home insurance and PMI vary by location and lender, so add them separately for a full monthly cost.
