Frequently asked questions
- Can I use my logo as the watermark?
- Yes. Switch the type to 'Logo image' and choose your logo file. A PNG with a transparent background blends in best, because only the logo itself is drawn — a JPG logo brings its rectangular background with it. The logo keeps its own proportions and is scaled to the width you set.
- Should I use a single mark or a tiled pattern?
- A single mark in a corner credits the photo without getting in the way, which suits images you post publicly. But a corner mark can be cropped off in a few seconds, so for proofs, drafts or ID copies you send to someone you don't fully trust, a faint tiled pattern across the whole image is much harder to remove — any crop still contains several copies.
- Will the watermark look the same on a large photo as in the preview?
- Yes. The size, margin and spacing are all set as a share of the image rather than in fixed pixels, and the preview is drawn by the same code as the download at a smaller scale, so the mark lands in the same place at the same relative size. The download keeps the photo's original resolution.
- Are my images uploaded to a server?
- No. The photo and the logo are read from your own device and combined in your browser on a canvas; the result is handed straight back as a download. Nothing is uploaded and no copy is kept. The output carries no EXIF data, so the original's GPS position and camera details are not copied across.
